I beat my head against a wall in Wenatchee and went to every single restaurant (it seems) and couldn't get hired. I guess I could still try to find work there when I'm in town.
But in 2 days, I have 2 solid offers and 2 more very close-to-offers where I'm being allowed to skip past protocol and HR and regular hiring red tape.
This is how it was in D.C. It was so much easier for me there, in general, to just get a job.
I guess I should have cut my losses earlier when I was in Wenatchee, but I still have to go back there to see my son so I'm basically still going to finish a couple of interviews I had started there and maybe check things out as well.
But it doesn't look good when you can't get a job, and it's not my fault when it seems Wenatchee is the only place that won't hire me for anything. I don't know. Maybe someone will still hire me there, we'll see.
