My Aunt Is Nuts

I just called to see how my son was doing. My aunt never answers the phone like this, but she answered the phone, totally smacking, LOUDLY, chewing gum.

Hmm. I guess she read what small bit I put into my blog.

Then, wondering what the hell she was doing and if she'd started eating with her mouth full, I realized she was pointedly chewing gum over the phone and WANTED me to hear it.

I asked what my son was doing and she said, "Watching a movie." She said they'd just gone to the store and picked out "Ice Age". I said, "Are you watching it with him?" and she said, "I'm doing some sweeping and cleaning and I will in a bit."

For all of her sweeping and cleaning, the insides of my son's ears were not clean today, and he had sleep from his eyes still, and his nails were not cut. At least this time, he said he wanted a kleenex instead of the time before when I offered a kleenex and he insisted "I will use my finger."

I feel bad for my son. He knows who spends time with him and loves him most. HE KNOWS. He even talked about wanting to go home with me today.
