Painting To Fix

this one i did to the Beatles song "Til There Was You". I started it and finished it before the song was over. Impromtu expression I guess.

this is still a mess but it's hard when you don't have a plan with watercolor. i'm just playing around with no prior idea or vision in mind so it just develops. this looks better, i think, turned in other directions for balance but i like some parts of it. i think i really messed it up though. it needed less, not more, but no white paint and can't erase watercolor. the next one I did to the Beatles, "Til There Was You"

I painted a stem of grapes that was on my desk and then I was pairing it with these seed pods that rattle which I held up as "snakes" the other day. They ended up crossways making what looked like a tree and then it looked like purple water at a bank and a yellow sun or something. Grapes by robert frost came to mind and then I thought, "this looks terrible". i'm doing these in about 10 minutes or less so it's haphazard and not a very good debut for sure, but i thought i'd post the mess because it evolved into an interesting idea which just needs a lot of fixing. So i'm going to see if i can fix it somehow. i think i'm better with oils and doing modern or spending a lot of time at copying styles of degas, but this is just fun (and ugly)
