clay wacking hammers and grail as a bowl

I sort of found something that is similar to the image I had of a kind of wooden hammer or maybe spike thing. These are huge, but the right shape except I saw this one as smaller and hand-held but what's strange is that while these large ones are associated with some kind of clay construction, I had clay or pottery come to mind, wondering if it was some sort of instrument used to make art. I thought cooking tool too, but I've no idea. Here's the image of the "clay wackers". http://www.nikdaum.com/news/jind101.jpg

THEN, there were these new books sort of standing out and one was on The Grail and I felt like a nerd picking it up but it was an overview history bc I don't know much about it. I haven't had time to read, just flipped through and skimmed but what caught my attention was finding this art representation of "the grail", in symbolism at least, as a bowl, not a cup. It is found in "the fresco of the Grail Bearer Repanse de Schoye in the chapel of Tahull in the Spanish Pyrenees. 12th century. This book says it may be the earliest known painting or representation of the symbolic grail. I am inclined to believe it is only a symbol for possibly something else.

AND I found from this book that Joseph of Arimathea was considered a guardian and for some reason it came to mind awhile ago.

Also, the first tarot cards included knights of the templars and came on scene around time of the grail stuff or whatever...i don't know. It would be interesting to see the most original versions of the cards. I think it was mainly for decorative purposes but it would be fun to see.
