I checked on some things and found I can at least act as an agent for women in Washington who would like to be surrogate mothers.
I will be able to pass your name and information on to a woman who is in Idaho, who wants me to help coordinate things, screen applicants, and go over a variey of topics such as nutrition and the timeline of being a surrogate and all of your options.
She has been in this business for years and has a good lawyer and all of the legal and financial ends covered. She basically just wants me to do some of the legwork and help coordinate the information and interview, since I am in the area and she's not.
So if anyone is interested in learning more about being a surrogate, please let me know and let's get started!
Some general information can be found at various sites online. The reason I am recruiting from this area for another state is because it is illegal to be compensated in Washington for surrogacy. However, if arrangements is out of area, and the delivery is out of area, you will be able to be compensated.
After initial screening and interview, all expenses will be paid as you have a psychological and physical examination and go over contract details. Your hotel and exams and flight costs will be covered.
You would be paid initially for the transfer of the embryo or implantation and then receive a monthly allowance or lump sum up front (half of the money) for the duration of the pregnancy. Two weeks before delivery you would receive the rest of the money, paid in full.
Your insurance will be covered, and this includes life insurance and full medical coverage.
Some basic things we are looking for in a surrogate are the following:
*History of having had at least 1 healthy child
*Age 18-36 for traditional carrier (where you donate your own egg--your own genes and your uterus as well)
*Age 18-46 for gestational carrier (where the embryo is implanted, from a donor sperm and donor egg, and only your uterus is needed)
*Good habits (nutrition and fitness) and willingness to agree to the requirements and desires of the intended parents while carrying the child.
*Drug free and non-smoker
