Computer Problems About 7 a.m.

I wasn't having any overheating problems with my laptop until, I think, about 7 a.m. this morning. So it's just recent.

Now it's quit. For now at least.

I am not a techy but I have owned a lot of laptops, and it sounds like your laptop could be dying. Did you get it brand new or used? See if there is a warranty on it. From my experience, they only last about 2 years. Some can last longer, depends. Be sure to back up your data with a thumbdrive to make sure you don't lose anything if it crashes. You could take it to a computer repair shop to see what they say, as it could also be something minor. Do you have Norton or another kind of virus protection application? So many sites contain viruses, if you purge your computer of them, this may help.

p.s. call the company to see if there are any recalls. My laptop manufacturer just recalled the battery of my computer model (and it was no longer under warranty) as it was prone to overheating, and other issues, such as burns, and I think it stated fires were possible, as well. If you were not the original purchaser, you may not be privy to communication about the recalls if they don't have your contact info, so it would be a good idea for you to call just to check in case this may be the issue. My manufacterer gave out free, brand new batteries to remedy this. Now my computer rarely overheats.
