Today I contacted a couple of mosques, and churches, and meant to call the synogogue as well but didn't get that far. I mainly asked what they knew about resources in the area, in general.
I filled out an unemployment claim which I should have done long ago. It appears I qualify and that this might help with maybe $200-$300 a month.
I also accepted an interview for a restaurant position which I hope might turn out.
