I think his name is Shawn Reichert and he's with Woods law firm in Wenatchee. He's who was assigned to me for the supposed "taking car without permission" which I didn't do and have written about.
The problem is that I've had absolutely zero contact with him even though I went in several times to try to make contact.
I just found out he was assigned to my case 3 weeks ago. I went to his office to try to talk to him but he was out so I talked to his secretaries, one who said she was part Native American and the other who spoke Chinese. I said I wanted to get help asking for change of venue for this case to King County.
I was told there has never been a change of venue in the history of Chelan County.
I asked to meet with him and they said I had to wait until my appointment with him on August 10th. I said I needed to speak to him before that. I was told I would talk to him on the 10th, which, they said, was just one week before the hearing.
I left a note with their office, for him, asking to meet or speak sooner, for change of venue. I then called and got the message that Shawn refused to talk to me until the the 10th and he wasn't asking for change of venue.
I don't see how any decent preparation can be made for a hearing just one week before that hearing, when there is evidence to obtain, and when I've specifically stated I have sufficient grounds for requesting change of venue.
I don't think this sounds right. I emailed the Woods' offices yesterday, asking someone to get back to me even though I was asked not to contact them. How am I supposed to get anywhere with this case if I can't contact or be in touch with my own public defender?
It doesn't make sense and it doesn't seem just.
I told my never-hired but temporarily interested former dependency attorney that if I could request hair analysis, I could prove the people claiming I took the car were drug users. I told her that the guy who offered to let me use his car borrowed drugs from the house next door. I didn't know this at first, myself, until after I'd borrowed his car, WITH his permission. I told her too, that my own housemates which let me stay a month temporarily in Wenatchee, while my residence was in King County...I told her they had been destroying evidence for my dependency case and they all used too. Her response was to say she knew of a case where a woman was discredited for "mental illness" when she tried to defend herself against people who used drugs. My reasoning was to bring up possible other motives for lying about me, or being under the influence.
I didn't know any of these individuals were into this until later. It wasn't something that was broadcast to me though later I saw what was going on.
I don't feel safe in Wenatchee, and I don't feel safe in this state, in general. I think I have good reason for this.
When I left the temp housemate situation in Wenatchee, I tried to just get a night at a shelter temporarily but every single shelter turned me down. The one for Women's Domestic Abuse had an intake woman who spoke with the manager who said I didn't meet requirements because I hadn't been sexually intimate with anyone at the house. I asked what that had to do with domestic abuse. I talked to others who said this wasn't correct, but this is what I was told, and I was refused a place. So then I called another one and they said I couldn't stay there because I didn't have a protective order and I had to have one first or other people would be endangered. The final one told me I could only stay there if I paid money through the state, for either physical or mental disability. I don't qualify for either one, though maybe I could do SSI for partial disability because of problems I'm still having with the disc in my lower back, which has gotten worse and is clicking when I walk now, which it wasn't doing before. I basically had no place to even live in Wenatchee, and wasn't safe there, so I stayed in the Tacoma-Seattle area and then I'm told I'm being penalized for not visiting my son when the only reason I haven't been able to is because I was out of the area to comply with services and no transportation was arranged by the state ahead of time, and then because of safety reasons and the need to file orders before I went back to Wenatchee. Not that this is going to keep me "safe", in my opinion. I wouldn't have filed anything at all if I'd thought I had a choice.
