I have all this tracking cookie stuff on my computer now.
I tried several times to get rid of this "ask" toolbar bc I don't like clutter on my computer. I don't like having a homepage that has news clips and a photo of the day and the temp and time and everything packaged up. I just want to get on my computer, and if i get on the internet, I choose my search and go there.
It's not too bad really, not downing others' ideas, bc they are good ideas, but I like having my computer clutter-free.
And then! I found these 2 unauthorized servers on my computer. I'd shut them down but I have to wait until I finish my scan. Then I'll get rid of all the new stuff.
Updates are great, until they're opening up a new hatch for someone. I don't trust all updates bc some of them, while boasting of better security, actually put you at more risk. Not usually, but some of the most old-fashioned stuff is also the most secure.
Like dial-up. It's slower and older, but it has the best security, even if that's not what I have now. It's like landline vs cell. landline is more secure and it's older. It's not convenient and not foolproof at all, but it's slightly more secure. I would never put my schedule and calendar on a computer. Ever.
