Oliver has been crawling forward, very well, for the last several days. He is now about 7 mo., 1 week. He is also clapping his hands together now, and clacks blocks together with one in each hand. He's almost walking on his own and can stand on his own temporarily. He pulls himself up to standing. He's been dancing to music for awhile. His main words, or attempts at words are: "hi", "mama", and "thank you". He also makes intonation for "i love you". He has consistently been at least 30% more advanced than is normal/average, and tends to hit milestones earlier than 30%...most of them by about 40% or 50% ahead of schedule. Some things, a couple things here and there, he is months and months ahead on, mainly in his cognitive/communication development. He understands things I'm saying to him and has known his own name and responded to it, from about 5 months of age or earlier. He's still pooping in the toilet, with maybe 6 accidental dirty diapers where even an adult may have not been able to make it to the toilet in time...well, that's an exaggeration, but really, only 6 dirty diapers for quite awhile now. I still don't think he's a "genius", but the older he gets, and more he hits milestones early, the more confirmation I feel I have that he is very bright. He needs lots of new activities. He was so bored, I bought him christmas toys but ended up giving all of them to him early because he wanted something to do. He loves getting out of the house to look at new things, and while a little shy at times, he loves attention from people and is very smiley and friendly. My guess, while I may be biased, being his mother, but at the same time, I try to be honest and I'm not pushing him to do anything, just letting him make his own pace, is that he is more than mildly or moderately gifted. He makes jokes and laughs a lot now, at things he thinks are funny and wants to know how everything works, from his seatbelt, to buttons on my shirt. He was crawling backwards for awhile, but now he is very fast crawling foward, and he's been rolling all over the place for some time. All for allah. Who knows, he might be the first Muslim-Mexican.
