I met a grant writer yesterday who I talked to about getting into writing grants. I guess it pays between $25-$75 an hour and you have to be fast. I'm fast enough, and I think I could do this kind of work but I'm planning to talk to him about it more next time we meet up. It would be a sustainable writing job. He does a lot of work in Seattle.
It's something I'd like to do for myself as well, as I have always had plans to start up a non-profit organization (or two). So, grant writing would come in handy. Who knows. I might even end up writing grants for the State of Washington. ;)
