Failure of Auto Bailout and Trickle Up

I read the NYT today. The main thing I was wondering, was how the $15 million bailout went down to $14 million. Where did the other 1 million go? business lunch?

So the Senate failed the auto bailout. Which may be for the best, even though I'm not Republican.

What I want, which maybe Dems feel just wouldn't fly anywhere, is a $700 bailout for the people. Checks for all of us. The bank bailout didn't really work, so lets trying giving it directly to the people and see what happens.

I think most of the people on White House lawns, can't imagine how this would make a difference, but it would make a huge difference to a lot of people. To most politicians and special lobbyists, and people at the top, a check for $300,000 isn't that big of deal. It's how much they make in a year and they blow through it. It would make a HUGE deal to a lot of people.

You want the auto industry back?

I can't tell you how many people DON'T have cars because they can't afford one, or the insurance, and the gas. Do you know how many people would go out and buy cars? and then the people decide. Instead of setting up highways for more future cars, or really, just improving the transportation of the rich, give people money, and some of them--a lot of them, are going to put a chunk of that change, into buying a car.

Merry Christmas to me and Merry Christmas to GM. Or whatever.

People would buy houses, and pay off their mortgages. But maybe that's not what the corporations really want. THEY want to be secure, and fuck the rest of the people. They'll just hoard it for themselves, like the banks did.

These companies are not interested in saving people's paychecks, they're interested in their own and in profits.

The people who are interested in the people are the people, and THEY will fix the economy if they are given the chance to work trickle UP for once.

We do need help, but right now, what we need is trickle up, not down.
