hahahaaaa...i like "all by myself" by eric carmen, esp. bc it reminds me of the scene in the english movie with renee zellweger..."Bridget Jones' Diary", where she's swigging from a wine bottle and doing this drum roll and a kick at the end, totally drunk. lol. one of my favorite scenes.
like Breakfast Club's "right on track"--haven't heard it before. Heard "Maniac" earlier today and thought that pretty much represented me all day today. I want to look up the translation to Angel by Jon Secada (in spanish).
Against All Odds by Phil Collins. One really really good song. Like Isis too by this Alaska y Dinarama band. Will have to look up translation. haven't found the translation yet but i looked Isis up on wiki and am reading about her. Interesting figure and I've never read about her--wouldn't mind reading more about her.
have heard "lala" by animation, "king of wishful thinking" by go west, "everything she wants" by wham! "king" by UB40 and "women" by def leppard. lala is one that grows on me in its moodiness and simplicity. "cry me a river" by rick astley i like, sort of bluesy. i just found out "japanese boy" by aneka was done by a scottish woman dressed up as a geisha and the song went to UKs number one spot. i would never guess this was a scottish folksinger...? sort of makes me smile. like the lyrics to "some like it hot" by the power station. "Don't Know Much" i've heard so much but i always enjoy hearing it again--the harmony is so beautiful. i'll have to look up "claroscure" i don't know if it's an invented word combining spanish and english? or a full spanish word. al corley "square rooms" sounds sooo british. all the way through. already commented on that though. i have to go back and listen to "radio romance" by tiffany. i also want to listen to elton and joels "your song" bc i missed this one. also want to look up "no te enamores del bengali" lol--i can't imagine what it must be like. y soda stereo's "nada personal"...i should put a list together and work on the translations to improve my spanish, en generales.
hmmm. i forgot how much i like the sax and then i hear glenn frey's "you belong to the city." murray head's "one night in bangkok"...yes, this is it. i love listening to this and it cracks me up. what a crazy, crazy, spirited and inspired song. the lyrics, and the crazy music transitions. all that, and then the chorus is very singable and catchy. i think this is one of my favorite discoveries. so fun. i really like the beginning of the outfield's "your love" too, a tribute to all the younger men i've dated. i like the josie bit and it sort of reminds me of the one "i wish i had jessie's girl", i almost wrote "i wish i were jessie's girl." mil horas is 1,000 hours? i am thinking mil is 1,000. oh, i think so, bc then he says "quantas?" mil. i would like to be fully bilingual in spanish but that will take more than just being around spanish speakers. i have to pick up grammar. "let's go all the way" makes me think of a lot of humming bees. sort of charlie and the chocolate factory yum-yum with bees and zinging. for some reason, spiraling swirly rainbow lollipops. where is all the way though? lol. california dreamers sinking in the sand and hollywood stars at disneyland--whee...ah, we can make a better way...okay. got it.
hmmm. really beautiful song..."angel" by secada. i looked up the translation and the only part they couldn't translate with the automatic thing was "olvidarte". don't know what olvidarte is. i think, next time, if i'm going to listen to music, i should have the spanish-english dictionary with me. too lazy to get it right now. hahahahaa. i love this "maneater" song. esp. the part "mind over matter, beauty but a beast in her heart" or something. like a logical woman is a terrorist. huh! mind over matter is a thing of pride for a man. manic monday, so familiar. don't know much. make me lose control by eric carmen? wow. that brings back very old, old, memories. i swear there must be a cassette tape around somewhere with me singing along to these songs when i was about 13. Shattered Dreams...and Toy Soldiers by Martika. I sang this one a lot when I was younger. I am wondering if this was a music class song or one I heard in jr. high all the time? i think this one guy i knew hated it. i have to go soon. i swear all of these songs are on an old cassette tape somewhere. they're all deja vu songs i know the words to. it's like someone grabbed one of my amateur mixes.
